How do I use the library catalogue?
The library catalogue is meant for searching for physical library resources such as books, magazines, and media collections. These can be searched via the library OPAC with any relevant keywords. (It is very similar to google search.)
Although the catalogue says that it is available, I can't find the book I need on the shelves.
First, check that you are at the correct shelf.
If you are at the correct shelf, check that you are at the correct place in the sequence. Books at the same number are shelved according to call number first alphabetically, and then numerically (e.g. QA 805, QA 809, QC 21, QC 42, etc).Look along the shelf, above and below- even behind - as the book may have been removed and then replaced incorrectly.
The book may not be re-shelved or another student may be using it within the library. Please refer to the library staff for assistance if you are still unable to locate it.
